Free Sheep Fotos

How to find the best free sheep photos for your social media and website

We all know that a picture is worth a thousand words. To communicate effectively on our wool related websites, blogs and social media you rely on good quality images. If you don’t happen to have your own images available, you can turn to image libraries online.
Nowadays there are a lot of good image libraries available who even offer free photos for you to use. Working in wool we use a lot of sheep photos in our communications. That is why in this blog post, I give you an overview of the image libraries I found to be the best for free sheep photos.

Please note, all of the sites I mention offer free images, however, you need to always check the creative commons license of the image you wish to use. Some images require you to give credit (attribution) to the author or licensor of the image. Therefore please always check the creative commons license before using an image on your website and social media.

Unsplash has beautiful high-resolution images on all sorts of topics. All images can be used for free without any attribution required. Images are available in a high resolution. There are around 50 free sheep photos for your to select from, which is not that much, but I am sure you will be amazed at the breathtaking photos this site has to offer.

Pixabay pulls together free and paid images from different resources. When you type in sheep Pixabay comes up with over 2400 sheep photos and graphics. Please always check if you can use the image without any attribution. Pixabay offers you to sign in, which is free and makes the management and download of the images you selected easier.

This large photo community called 500PX lists over 57600 sheep photos when you search for the term sheep. All images are of high quality and look stunning. You always need to check the creative common license to find out how you can use the images you are interested in.

This photo library with the name Foter has over 200 million images available for you to search through. It also offers a good number of sheep images. Many images are pulled from Flickr. All images that you use from Foter require attribution, but they give you all the details on how to do that on the site itself.

Free Range Stock

This site offers free images but you need to create an account with them. Images at Free Range Stock are of high quality for which you do need to give attribution. I found around 88 sheep images on the site.
There are of course also paid options which you may need it you plan to use an image that is not covered by the common creative license or if you need a specific high image resolution that a free image is not offering you. You can check out and for these situations.

More great image libraries

While searching the different image libraries, I also found a few sites that did not offer sheep photos in particular but just had beautiful and free pictures that may come in handy when you are working on a project: Jay MantriKaboompicsMagdeleine, Pexels
